CHRIS GARTNER is a Toronto based producer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. He has been noted for his production work on the JUNO AWARD nominated album “Sun Place” by JAFFA ROAD, LORI CULLEN’S “Uneven Hill” album, and the Indo/Jazz group: TASA’S latest release“Alchemy”. Chris is a founding member of TASA, and has toured Europe and Japan, and performed with master musicians: TRICHY SANKARAN, STEVE ODA, DHRUVA GHOSH, andMARK FELDMAN while with this group.

As a member of (Barenaked Ladies keyboardist) KEVIN HEARN’s band: “THINBUCKLE”, he has performed on recordings featuring: LOU REED, VAN DYKE PARKS, LAURIE ANDERSON, and CHANTAL KREVIAZUK.

CHRIS was recently honoured with the grand prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest as a co-composer in the World Category. He can be heard on a number of recent releases, including:GARTH HUDSON’S new cd, ” A Canadian Celebration of The Band”, and LOREENA MCKENNITT’S latest recording, “The Wind that Shakes the Barley”.

Sound Support for our Practice of Listening with the Heart

In this 1-hr workshop, Mitsi Rose will offer information and guide the group of attendees in an energy healing experience using sound. We will start by considering our practice of listening with the heart, and how the power of sound may be added to this practice as an effective tool to unravel places of energetic tension or blockage in the body. Crystal bowls will be played and the group will be invited to use their own voices to live the experience of travelling within with sound. Mitsi Rose will then hold the energy space and guide the group in applying their own heart-listening, to feel into the place of tension and experience healing that part of themselves.

Harps and music have soothed and healed us throughout the centuries. This hands-on workshop is for those who have always wanted to play the harp for personal or therapeutic purposes. No musical experience or knowledge is required. Just a willingness to open to the beauty of the sound. Harps will be provided. Workshop length: 90 minutes.
